There are more than 18,000 businesses in this Middle Georgia region, with general construction, banking and finance, healthcare, and public administration accounting for the top four industries. The labor force currently stands at approximately 227,000 with an anticipated 600 new jobs in 2020, with hourly pay in the Macon area growing at twice the of the national rate. Warner Robins is best known as the home of Robins Air Force Base, and the Museum of Aviation is the second largest aerospace museum of the U.S. Air Force.
